If your business records personal information on its equipment, you have a number of legal obligations to protect that information under the Data Protection Act 1998.

Our professional data destruction service guarantees your business meets all its legal data protection obligations when disposing of all equipment that might contain data, including PCs, laptops, servers, printers, tablets, PDAs and much more.

The data destruction process includes pattern wiping via a minimum 7 pass wipe with verification so that your business can have complete peace of mind that your data will be completely and irrecoverably destroyed. If for any reason a hard drive cannot be accessed, we will remove and physically destroy it either by degaussing or shredding.

Every organisation that disposes of IT and telecoms equipment has a legal ‘duty of care’ to make sure the waste is handled safely and only given to those authorised to receive it. The unwanted equipment is classified as waste by the Environment Agency and should be treated in accordance with the latest government regulations. RICOTECH are fully licenced to collect and receive redundant IT and telecoms equipment and we provide businesses with the paperwork to prove they have correctly disposed of their equipment.

We work in strict accordance with the WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Directive with a zero waste to landfill policy. RICOTECH’s main objectives are to maximise the RE-USE of the equipment we collect and where re-use is not viable, all raw materials are then recycled.
